Dead Bunny Society is back with a group exhibition after more than a years’ spiritual hiatus in the nether re- gions of the Underworld. We have come back wiser and slightly older but still as ugly.
The exhibition will explore older works by artists that we have been working with over the years and some new ones too, that we chose to revive from their archives and graveyards.

But seriously: often times artists will have older artworks or visual experimentations that either never made it to exhibitions and thus were never sold or just don’t fit in with their ‘accepted oeuvre’. Odd bits that lay around gathering dust, but never forgotten: treasures none the less.

We are digging through these forgotten artworks, unearthing those special treasures, as we bring you ‘Rise from the Dead’ for one day only on 03 March 2019 (First Sunday) and only for this day these artworks will be available at prices that will suit every pocket. ‘Rise from the Dead’ will be hosted at the vibrant and new development: Victoria Yards.

So come say hello, raise yourself from the dead on Sunday 03 March and purchase or just enjoy some old (and even some new) untold, unseen, rehashed and regenerated artworks brought to you by the same villains as before: Dead Bunny Society.

The fear of death is the most primal and oldest of the fears. Its effects all living beings from singular cellular organisms all the way through to the human species. It stems from the inherent instinct in life to attempt to survive. It will automatically mobilize all the individual’s resources into the fight or flight response when threatened.
Humans evolved an awareness of death around 150,000 years ago. The most common strategy that we have developed to manage it, has been denial and suppression. This denial is expressed in numerous forms.
If one reflects on the cruelty and brutality of human history it can inevitably be traced back to this the most fundamental and basic of fears. However, all attempts to stem the relentless waves of death have, and will be futile. This exhibition attempts to stare into the eyes the abyss and lovingly embrace it as essential ingredient of our condition.
